Our founder, Renee, grew tired of always having to "lean in," so she decided to push back.

After years on the verge of burnout, she began to see her own need for rest not as a luxury, but as resistance, a truth long championed by feminist voices before her.

She was ready to put a little self-care into practice in her own life. And she imagined what it would look like if people everywhere prioritized their self-care? It would be a Self-Care Rebellion.

Inspired by this idea, she launched "Here I Am Self-Care," a marketplace for self-care items that inspire rest and relaxation. This site offers sustainably made small-batch, plant-powered essentials that are one-time purchases as gifts for yourself or for others.
