The Here I Am Sourcing Manifesto

Self-care is not a commodity. It is a human need.

We source products thoughtfully, intentionally, with a focus on positive impact.

The same way we believe care should be given.

These are the eight principles that guide our work.

1. Care should never come at someone else’s expense

We prioritize brands that:

  • Are women-owned or women-led, with values we believe in
  • Operate in small batches, creating products without harming the earth
  • Pay people fairly for work and treat people with respect and dignity

If a product requires exploitation, secrecy, or speed at all costs, it does not belong here.

Care built on harm is not care.

2. Ingredients matter. It starts with transparency.

Every product must be:

  • Non-toxic and clearly labeled.
  • Transparent about ingredients and sourcing.
  • Honest about what it can and cannot do.

If we cannot explain what is in it and why it is there, we will not sell it.

“Clean” is not a marketing word here. It is a responsibility.

3. Fewer products. Higher standards.

We believe:

  • Less equals more care.
  • Simple solutions solve complex problems.
  • Saying no is part of doing this right.

We intentionally carry fewer products. Every choice has a positive impact, including choosing nothing at all.

Being selective is the point.

4. Small batch is not a vibe. It is a value.

We choose small batch because:

  • Quality is easier to protect.
  • Waste is easier to reduce.
  • People are easier to care for.

We work with brands that scale intentionally and take responsibility for their impacts.

Bigger or well-known is not always better.

5. Products should support rest, not hustle culture

We do not source products that:

  • Shame people into “fixing” themselves.
  • Frame exhaustion as the goal.
  • Promise transformation through discipline or productivity.

We do source products that:

  • Support nervous system regulation.
  • Encourage slowing down, not overconsumption.
  • Make rest feel normal, not earned.

You do not need to deserve care. You choose to take it.

6. We are a platform, not a colonizer

Here I Am exists to:

  • Extend the reach of small brands to new customers who value quality, integrity, and transparency.
  • Create an ecosystem where small brands can grow by honoring their pricing, sourcing, and storytelling.
  • Support founders as partners, not inventory, with fair terms, visibility, and respect.

Products available at Here I Am are trusted, tested, and taken seriously.

This is a relationship, not a transaction.

7. We choose integrity over trends

We do not chase what is popular. We look for what is sustainable, useful, and genuinely supportive.

We choose brands that build for the long game. Brands that nurture the planet, their customers, and their communities, not just their bottom line.

Commitment is part of care.

8. Care is political. We do not pretend otherwise.

Money has impact. Where we spend it matters.

Every product we carry is a small vote for:

  • Women supporting women.
  • Thoughtful consumption.
  • A slower, kinder way of living.

This is not neutral. And it is not supposed to be.

In short

If it is here, it passed a higher bar.

Not because it was perfect. But because it was honest, intentional, and made with care.

That is the standard. That is the work
