They are critical in addressing some of the most challenging environmental, economic, and societal problems that our government and nonprofits alone cannot solve. To become a B Corp, companies must meet high social and environmental performance standards, transparency, and accountability. B Corp Certification is the only certification that measures a company's entire social and environmental performance. It proves where companies excel now and commits them to their mission for the long term.
To become certified, Here I Am Box conducted an assessment that took a close look at our impact in four key areas: governance, community, the environment, and our customers. We assessed our policies and business practices related to our mission, ethics, accountability, and transparency. We looked at how we contribute to the economic and social well-being of the communities in which we operate. We reviewed our overall environmental stewardship. And we measured the value we create for our customers and consumers of our products. It is a rigorous process, and we squeaked by, giving us a rich set of opportunities for continuous improvement.
We had always planned to use Here I Am Box to positively impact the artists and makers we work with, as well as our team, our customers, and the planet. The certification simply shines a light on our unwavering commitment to balancing purpose over profit and putting people and the planet at the core of everything we do.
